Meet Jimmy, creator of trunk & stem.
”The idea to create trunk & stem came from my deep appreciation for well-made products that improve daily life, whether it is there to serve a purpose or just to bring you joy whenever you see it. Every product that leaves my workshop door has this in mind, they are well made, and made to last. I ensure all of my products are as sustainable as they can possibly be from start to finish. All of my timber is locally sourced from the New Forest and surrounding area, and my finish of choice is made with only the finest natural and organic ingredients giving you a product that will last, without leaving a lasting impact on the environment around us. Almost all of the timber I use is also naturally felled, meaning the tree has either come down in a storm, or has been removed due to being a hazard, pretty cool right!”
JFJ Baker are an incredible leather tannery, their processes are unchanged from how they started years ago and they create the best, most natural leather I have found in the UK. All their hides are sourced from local farms and are a waste product of the meat industry. They tan their hides over an 18 month process using oak bark (another bi-product from other industries) which creates a naturally strong and beautiful leather. The hides are then finished entirely by hand before being stored ready for use.
