El Indio, A Natural Colombian Coffee Returns
We’re bringing back a coffee we loved so much the first time around: El Indio. It’s been a while since it featured on our shelves, but this single-varietal microlot from Colombia’s Tolima region is too good not to share again.
Why El Indio Coffee?
Grown in the Tolima region of Colombia, an area renowned for speciality coffee, El Indio is a shining example of how natural processing can deliver exceptional flavour. This coffee has impressed in the Cup of Excellence and Colombian Coffee Federation competitions, and for good reason.
Produced by a community of growers working under the El Indio program, strict quality standards ensure every harvest delivers consistency and character. Once picked, cherries are carefully dried on raised beds or patios, allowing natural fermentation to unlock its distinctive flavour profile.
Tasting Notes
Passion fruit – vibrant and tropical
Orange – juicy and refreshing
Wine – a rich, layered finish
The result is a cup with real depth and character: bright fruit notes, balanced by a silky, wine-like body.
Brewing El Indio
El Indio shines across brew methods, but we particularly recommend it as a pour over (V60 or Kalita), which really highlights those delicate fruit layers. Expect every sip to feel like a little flavour journey.
