The Peace Project

Our new premium coffee from Colombia is the result of the dedication and resilience of a remarkable producer known simply as the "Peace Project."

Despite facing a tumultuous past, this producer has chosen to remain anonymous, driven by a desire to inspire others through their transformative journey.

Enlisted into the FARC (Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia) guerrilla group during their youth, they endured a 19-year imprisonment for a crime they fervently believe they did not commit. Behind bars, they saw an opportunity for personal growth and change, embracing education and a commitment to societal betterment. In their own words, "Prison is a school; if you want to follow bad steps there, you can do it, but if you want to follow a good path, ironically, you can also do it—it depends on you."

Upon release, the Peace Project accessed the SENA entrepreneurship fund, using it to invest in their father's farm. Specialty coffee has not only given them a second chance at life but also provided an honest livelihood and a newfound passion. Their aspiration is to be a beacon of hope for other young individuals, demonstrating that escape from combatant groups is possible, and a fresh start can contribute to peace in Colombia—hence the name "Peace Project."

A cleaner way to import coffee.

We are super excited to release our very first coffee shipped, by sail, by The New Dawn Traders.

New Dawn Traders is an experimental business. They work with sailing cargo vessels to import produce from across the Atlantic Ocean to the Cornish coastline and beyond, pollution-free.

We wholeheartedly believe in the mission undertaken by Alex and The New Dawn Traders. We are actively engaged in the logistical aspects of increasing the volume of our coffee shipments by sail. Stay tuned for further updates on our progress in this exciting endeavor.
